For journalists
The wire is free and open to everyone. Accreditation exists for one reason only: so that we can send you embargoed material before it is public, and know who we sent it to. Nothing on this site is paywalled, rate-limited or reserved for registered users.
Accreditation
Accreditation is open to any journalist who publishes, broadcasts or produces news or current affairs — staff, freelance, student or independent. We do not require a minimum circulation, a masthead, or a letter from an editor. We do require that we can identify you and reach you.
You do not need accreditation to use the wire. Every published release, every asset and the full feed are available to anyone, without registration. Accreditation only adds advance access to embargoed material and event credentials.
Embargo policy
- Every embargoed release carries a lift time in UTC, stated in words and in a machine-readable field. There is no such thing as an open-ended embargo here.
- Lift times are absolute. We do not operate rolling embargoes, regional lifts, or “first light in your market” arrangements.
- Embargoed material is sent no more than 72 hours ahead, and for market-sensitive financial releases no more than 12 hours ahead.
- You may seek comment and prepare copy under embargo, provided you make the embargo clear to anyone you approach.
- If a release enters the public domain before its lift time — through us or through anyone else — the embargo is void immediately and we will say so on this site.
Verifying a release
Every item the wire distributes carries a release ID in the form MW-YYYY-NNNN — the prefix, the year of issue, and a sequence number that restarts at 0001 each January. The ID appears on the feed row, on the release page, in the feed item, and in the footer of any document we issue.
Montlior Group issues no releases outside this wire. If a statement attributed to the group, to any of its brands, or to any named executive does not carry a resolvable release ID on this domain, it did not come from us. Please tell us about it.

Submit the form
Name, outlet, the beat you cover, and one link to work published in the last twelve months. Freelances may link a portfolio or a commissioning editor.
-
Institute check
Where you hold a current press card, we verify it against the shared register and your accreditation is issued the same day.
-
Confirmation and credentials
You receive a wire account, a numbered credential for events, and inclusion on the embargo distribution list for the beats you selected.
-
Annual renewal
Accreditation runs to 31 December and renews on a single confirmation email. Lapsed accounts are archived, never deleted, so your history stays intact.
